Red Cross Disaster Training
The Northeast Nevada Service Center for the American Red Cross will be
offering disaster training free of charge to anyone interested. The
class offered is titled Family Service - Providing Emergency Service.
This class details the emergency assistance offered to disaster
clients. It offers hands-on interviewing practice and shows the
candidate how to determine the disaster-caused needs of the client and
how the American Red Cross fills them. This is the bread and butter
class for anyone wishing to become a Disaster Volunteer in Family
Service, or a Disaster Action Team, (DAT) member. Skills gleened from
this class are used in every-day disaster response in our communities
and on major national disasters.
The class is offered on Monday and
Tuesday evening, January 16 and 17 from 5:00 PM till approximately
9:00 PM. Interested persons should contact the American Red Cross at
